A 5 hole ocarina with a range of Octave + 1 chromatic, made from Stonewear and featuring BARITE, CERUSSITE and GALENA crystal from the arid desert of Morocco.
The salmon colored, ‘stacked’ structure is Barite. Barite is a sulfate mineral, with the chemical formula BaSO4.
The name Barite is derived from the Greek word βαρύς (heavy).
Traditionally Barite has been used for cleansing the system of toxins, soothing a nervous stomach, absorbing X-rays and gamma rays, and bringing calmness and self-assurance.
The sparkling clear crystals are Cerussite, a dense mineral with the chemical formula PbCO3.
Traditionally, Cerussite has been used for enhancing communication through listening and reducing anxiety.
They are resting on a silvery grey Gelena matrix. Galena has been used for many purposes including picking up radio signals. In ancient Egypt, it was used as ‘kohl’, applied around the eyes to reduce the glare of the desert sun and repel flies, often depicted in their art.
Traditionally, Galena has been used for protection, grounding and self-transformation.
