Crystal Pyrite on Stoneware Ocarina SOLD

A 4 hole ocarina with a range of Octave chromatic, made from Stonewear and featuring Pyrite crystal from the arid desert of Morocco.

Pyrite is an iron sulfide with the chemical formula, FeS2. Pyrite is commonly

known as Fool’s Gold because of its resemblance to gold.

The name pyrite is derived from the Greek πυρίτης (puritēs), "of fire" or "in fire". In ancient Roman times, this name was applied to several types of stone that would create sparks when struck against steel, a sparking stone was believed to have fire in its core.

Pyrite has been used for many applications including as a source of ignition in early firearms and as a mineral detector in early radios. The ancient Incas used Pyrite as mirrors.

Traditionally, Pyrite is viewed as a strengthening mineral that stimulates creativity and increases stamina, ambition, commitment, and persistence.

You can place your intention while playing the ocarina and the crystal will be ‘programmed’ with your thoughts and breath.
